Towela has been a producer since the tender age of nine, recording ads on her dad's boom box. She grew up to become a senior multimedia producer across animation, live action, audio, post production, creative, on set, on site and event production.
A master of fine arts, she understands visuals. As a professional marketer, she understands markets. As a global citizen, she understands how connected we all are. Ten plus years of agency work, twenty plus years in video production, and lived experience across three continents.
She builds Global Gear with her sister Tamara, who studied fashion. Together they are creating a label that is African diasporic and made for everyone, starting with tees and heading toward a children's line, then a small but powerful collection for men and women.

Breathable 100% cotton, ethically sourced. They are pre shrunk, unisex cut, and screen printed so the graphics stay sharp wash after wash.
